The National Elite Series criterium race around Colne Town Centre. It sees the country’s top cyclists battle it out on a fast, closed-road town centre circuit cheered on by thousands of spectators.
Previous stars to tackle the course include Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish, Russ Downing, Rob Hayles, Chris Newton and local boys Ian Wilkinson, Paul Oldham and Steven Burke.
This FREE event village is at the start/finish location for the Pendle Predator, Rolls Royce Sports Ground on the 7th August.
A place for friends and families of the riders to come and enjoy a range of activities, including; Circus Big Top, cycle-powered smoothies, Nick O’ Pendle challenge and much more.

These rides are organised and led by the local cycling clubs, taking newcomers, families and enthusiasts alike on easy-paced rides around the area. They utilise traffic-free and quiet lanes, avoiding hills and including cafe stops. They are free to join in - all you need is a bike!
The programme runs from May to September.

1) Every Tuesday May - September 10.00am -
12.00noon
A ride suitable for beginners, through Victoria Park, Nelson. Learn
bike handling skills and build your confidence in a traffic free
environment. Opportunity to gain Bikeability Level 1 & 2.
Distance 5 - 7 miles.
2) Every Wednesday May - September 1.30pm -
3.00pm
A ride along the Leeds Liverpool Canal and quiet lanes. There will be a
refreshment stop half way. Distance up to 10 miles.
Depending upon volunteer availability there will be an additional ride of up
to 20 miles (please call to check this is going ahead)
3) Sunday, 17th July 11.00am - 2.00pm
A ride along the Leeds Liverpool Canal to Cafe Cargo at Foulridge, have a
brew and return. There will be a small amount of road cycling between the
Canal and the Cafe. Approx. 10 miles.
